There are several possiblities to calcualte the animal's position within a time slot – see further below for more details:
- if only one direction of arrival (DOA) is given, one can use the signal strength to estimate the distance to the station – distance and angle makes a location
- if two direction of arrivals (DOA) are given, the lines drawn from each station intersect, the intersaction is the animal's location
- if more then two (DOA) are given, the center of the intersections is the estimated location
